Jerry Smith

Started training BJJ in 1998 with Master Carlos Machado while serving as an active duty member of the USAF. I left TX in 2001 (as a blue belt) after leaving active duty service and headed home to NJ. While in NJ, I pursued the study of Judo since there were no BJJ instructors in my area at the time. In 2014, I reunited with Master Rigan Machado (whom I met through his brother, Carlos, back in TX). I linked up with some of Rigan’s students and began earning rank directly from Rigan by traveling all over the US to attend his many seminars. On July, 17 2021, I received my black belt from Master Rigan.
